The Youth Bar Association is a UK-based organisation dedicated to promoting accessible engagement in law, diplomacy and criminal justice for young people. Through comprehensive articles, an informative newsletter and diverse academic opportunities, we provide young legal advocates with a platform to engage with relevant intellectual initiatives and meaningful legal discourse. Our society will be facilitating debates, mock trails and legislative simulations, allowing members to develop or hone critical thinking, advocacy and legal skills while exploring complex, contemporary issues. Whether you are aspiring to enter the legal field or enhance your legal insight, our society serves as a platform for critical inquiry and academic pursuit.
At the YBA, our international board organises all of our dedicated members, whether that be supporting events, acting as witnesses in mock trials, or corresponding with aspiring legal minds, we are committed to involving young people in the realm of law and politics.

I’m Bella, President of the YBA, an initiative advancing access to legal knowledge, and in my role, I work at the intersection of law, politics and IR. I enjoy writing articles on science, politics, philosophy, law and religious studies. I enjoy learning Russian and Polish to expand my linguistic skills, and I love to read all kinds of books, from science and psychology, to the classics. Beyond my academic pursuits, I compete in fencing, and I love film and poetry.

I’m Kay Sodeinde, general advisor at the Youth Bar. I study Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and mathematics , and I’m especially fascinated by how law and morality overlap, in how what we consider “good” and how that actually gets built into institutions. I’m really interested in human rights law because it brings together so many of those big questions in politics philsophy and international relations. Outside of academics, I love reading, baking something sweet, and binge-watching The Summer I Turned Pretty. Joining the Youth Bar Association is a way for me to connect these interests with real conversations about justice and society.

I’m the Director of the Youth Bar Association Newsletter, and manage publications, where I help put together our monthly publication for young people interested in law. I’ve taken part in Model UNs like THIMUN, along with school debates and mock trials, which really sparked my interest in commercial law. I enjoy the idea of working with people from all over the world in the business space, and possibly going into politics one day. Outside of the YBA, I’m a youth advisor for a gambling charity, and I play football and tennis for my school. I love learning, meeting new people, and winding down when I can.
